My dream is to create the “This Was Mine” moment for your children and their babies to come -Taylor

Our Story

By Taylor Loeffel, Founder of Libby Priere Designs

On a hot summer day three years ago, I jumped in the car—pregnant with my second baby, a dream in my heart, and $500 in my pocket. I was headed to the Sewing and Vacuum shop in Murfreesboro, TN—a place full of kind, welcoming people.

On the drive, I prayed and asked God to guide me.
My faith is everything to me, and I’ve always believed that with prayer and hard work, anything is possible.

I left that day with a small embroidery machine in the back seat—and a heart full of hope—ready to chase my dreams.

My story is simple and rooted in a deep passion: to create meaningful moments for other moms and families. There’s something sacred about dressing your baby in a garment that once belonged to you—an outfit saved for years, filled with memories and love. I call these “This Was Mine” moments, and they have inspired every step of this journey.

I didn’t have a detailed plan—just a vision. I started small, learning embroidery from scratch: how to design on my computer, merge files, and bring ideas to life. I built this brand from the ground up, pouring my heart into every piece, every post, and every stitch.

As my Instagram community began to grow, I was able to invest in a larger embroidery machine. That opened the door to more intricate work—and space to dream even bigger.

Then, in God’s perfect timing, I was introduced to my seamstress, Angela. Her gift for heirloom sewing is truly unmatched. She is incredibly talented, and such a blessing. Together, we now offer beautifully handmade heirloom garments, crafted from the highest-quality fabrics with stunning attention to detail.

Angela’s work brought my vision to life in ways I never imagined—and I thank God for placing her in my path.

The Meaning Behind the Name

The name Libby Priere carries special meaning: it's a combination of my great-grandmother’s and my daughter’s names. Later, I discovered that “Prière” means “to pray” in French—a perfect reminder of the foundation this business was built on.

Our logo features a hand-drawn portrait of my great-grandmother, created by the incredibly gifted graphic artist and friend, Angela Stewart, owner of @Whimsybyangela. Her image represents our story and our why—the passion to create pieces filled with love, designed for children to wear today and pass down tomorrow.

My grandmothers’ legacy and eye for design inspire everything we create. Her silhouette on our logo is more than just a brand symbol—it’s a tribute to the women who shaped me, and the purpose that fuels this work.

And yes—both of the women who’ve played such an important role in building Libby Priere Designs are named Angela. What are the odds?
To me, it’s a beautiful reminder: God’s timing is always perfect.

More Than Embroidery

Libby Priere Designs is so much more than embroidery. It’s about the memories we make with our children. The pieces we save and pass down. The legacy we create through love, craftsmanship, and faith.

We are honored to help families create their own #thiswasmine moments—for today, and for generations to come.

A little more about Taylor

Born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi my southern roots are grounded deep into the Mississippi clay itself. However, there is a sweet family history before that. My ancestors came from France, and had the name of Priere. The name is a family name that also means “to pray” in French. I have photos and stories of the French women and mothers interlocked into my family heritage. The beauty and style they expressed radiates through my designs. Both of my grandmothers, Carolyn & Gail hand-sew. They have made countless family heirloom items over the years and my work is inspired by them.

I created my business because of the women who came before me. The brown eyed girls that grew up to become mothers and impact the next generation of mothers. To me, this is everything.

I am embracing everything motherhood brings to me. I am a stay at home mom with two babies under the age of four. I have found a profound appreciation for heirlooms and keepsakes. There is much to be said about family items that are so special to be passed down to generation to generation. I want to share the sentimental feeling of putting my baby boy into heirlooms that his daddy wore, more causal pieces that my brother wore and also heirloom gowns that my grandmother made just for him. I want to share this experience with others… also, I would like to add that family heirlooms do NOT have to be fancy! Sometimes they are play clothes that are worn for the everyday adventures.

My dream is to create the “this was mine” moment for your children and their babies to come. Libby Priere Designs brings a unique touch to embroidery offering beautiful heirlooms and keepsakes. My hope is my designs will become significant pieces passed down from your brown eyed babies to the next. I cannot wait to become a small part of your story.
